I am Alyssa
Hi there!
I am a photographer, wife, and mother of three children with differing needs and abilities. I love self-photography using a tripod and timer, traveling to new countries, and spending time with my beautiful family.
I grew up on a farm in Rochester, Ma and then moved a town over to live on a field until I bought my own house in the woods of the same town and started a family. In these New England towns that I grew up in, I discovered my love for all the elements: fall foliage, fluffy white snow, muddy puddles, sunsets, old wooden buildings, and ice cream drippings.. #IYKYK
I worked for years as a configuration analyst in Newport, RI, then as a data analyst in Cambridge, MA and remotely. My former career gave me the skills to truly have attention to detail and be self-motivated.. but photography allows me to be my true creative self, something that my analyst career did not allow for. It also gives me the freedom to stay closer to home and be with my children as much as they need me to (and as much as I need to- for my own sake). This flexibility is important to our family, especially with special needs children. I am so greatful to have hobbies, that I love, come to fruitation to support the people, that I love. It is truly a full circle of fortune.
In 2024, my world turned upside down when I lost one of my little brothers. It became even more apparent to me, that I wanted to help others capture special moments in time with loved ones that they could cherish for eternity.
My ultimate goal for A.Oliveira Photos is to specialize in photography of adults and children with differing needs. I will ensure all my clients feel welcome and safe from the moment they reach out to me and for years to come with their photos hanging on their walls. I want to capture authenticity and confidence because our differences make us who we are.
